Eigsti took up the piano at age 4 and began studying classically around age 10. In 1996, a family friend sent a video of him performing to Dave Brubeck, who “watched it and invited me to sit in with him at the Mountain Winery in 1997,” Eigsti recalls. “It was lightly raining … and really cold, and I was amazingly nervous.
