Almond Grove residents packed a Nov. 13 meeting to discuss the state of their streets–they’ve been waiting for decades for their concrete streets to be fixed. Plans are now in play for repairs to start this coming May. But the project is expensive and the town only has $4 million to spend on it. Although the streets are historical, some residents are saying, “Put down asphalt and just get it done.” A decision on concrete or asphalt will be made next year, with the town’s Historic Preservation Commission expected to weigh in on the controversy in January.
