More than 15,000 people are expected to attend the 16th annual Bay Area Diwali Festival of Lights Oct. 13 at Memorial Park in Cupertino. The free event, hosted by the Cupertino Chamber of Commerce showcases multicultural music, Bollywood and classical dance performances, plus a kids’ zone, workshops, arts and crafts and food. The festival—one of the most significant in India—celebrates the idea that light has the power to drive out darkness, and that knowledge drives out ignorance and good drives out bad.
