Dates are Jan. 5, Jan. 19, Feb. 2, Feb. 16 and March 2. Films in the series are both Jewish and non-Jewish films that touch on the theme of passing values and skills to those who will carry on after us. Films being considered are “The Descendants,” “The Chosen,” “The Chef” and others, which will be finalized as the dates approach.

I have to mention two more favorite routines of the night. Lea Thompson and Artem Chigvintsev did a cha-cha to “Power of Love” from “Back to the Future,” and brought back the fun of the movie with gusto, including a DeLorean. Lea can really dance and she did a terrific job, although Carrie Ann didn’t think it was her best. She seems to be able to handle almost any dance that’s thrown at her and I expect her to be in the finals. And Betsey Johnson and Tony Dovolani were great in a contemporary routine to “Unchained Melody” from ghost. Through all of Tony’s lifts, Betsey was graceful and elegant. And her absolute delight when they found out that they were safe to dance next week was fantastic.

Then again, let’s not dwell on the hot mess “Glee” became but instead the show that started life on Fox as a fresh, quirky and joyously sweet confection that brought a whole new vibe to prime time.
